Mr. Massey heads the Development Group for HRS, with responsibility for investment analysis, site selection, entitlement processes, leasing achievement and disposition upon targeted milestones. HRS development activities are tightly focused on select opportunities, management of risk profile, and aggressive value creation. Currently, the development pipeline consists of approximately $85 million end value, in retail, hospitality and office properties. Mr. Massey had responsibility for the largest region of a $4.5 billion, 2,200-location corporate service client. At peak volume, annual assignments numbered 220, with a resultant transaction value of $28 million. Prior to joining Harbert, Mr. Massey worked for Daniel Corporation, Saks Incorporated, and Regency Development. Mr. Massey earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and his MBA from Samford University.

All company accounting and financial functions are directed by Mary C. Echols. Ms. Echols joined HRS in 1991 as Controller and is responsible for all financial reporting, cash management, budgeting/projections, and internal controls for the corporation and all managed properties. Prior to working at HRS she was controller for Daniel Corporation for ten years. Mary brings to HRS extensive real estate accounting experience along with three years in public accounting. Mrs. Echols received her B.S. in Accounting from the University of Alabama in Birmingham (1983) and achieved her CPA certification in 1985. Mary serves as a member of HRS Executive Committee and is on the Board of Directors of the HERO Foundation, a charitable organization formed by Harbert employees with the purpose of granting financial assistance to area families in need.

Mr. Rouss joined Harbert Realty Services in 2005, to lead and direct the Construction Services Group. Since joining HRS, Mr. Rouss has overseen the construction of many projects for numerous clients in several different locations throughout the Southeast. These projects include site entitlement only, site development only, renovations/additions, new retail construction, and office tenant improvements. Prior to Harbert, Mr. Rouss served in a similar capacity with Equity Resources, a Birmingham based Real Estate Developer. During this time, Mr. Rouss was responsible for several large-scale development projects in Alabama and Florida. In addition to his development background, Mr. Rouss also brings experience in commercial construction project management, having served as Project Manager and Senior Project Manager for two Southeast regional general contractors. Mr. Rouss brings years of hands-on expertise in all types and sizes of construction, from “Ground Up” high-rises to Interior Renovation projects. Mr. Rouss received a Bachelor of Science in Building Science from Auburn University.
