Harbert Retail Represents Landlord and Tenant in Deal Bringing Wintzell’s Oyster House to Cahaba Heights

Harbert Retail’s Casey Howard and Charlie Norton represented both Metropolitan Properties, the landlord of Heights Village Shopping Center, and tenant/franchisee, Keith and Frank Hall of “Red Fish Vestavia, LLC d/b/a Wintzell’s Oyster House”, in a deal that brings Wintzell’s Oyster House their 9th location in Alabama. This deal was completed just after Howard and Norton also recently helped Wintzell’s land another new location in Leeds, Alabama, which is slated to open in a few months.

Wintzell’s Oyster House began as a six-stool oyster bar in Mobile, Alabama. Founded by J. Oliver Wintzell, the original location on Dauphin Street now celebrates its 80th year and is joined by several additional locations, reaching from the Gulf Coast to central and northern Alabama.

Originally acquired in 1983 and subsequently renovated, Heights Village has been a popular destination tucked away in the bustling hamlet of Cahaba Heights, a niche market in the City of Vestavia Hills, Alabama, for the better part of four decades.

With a delightful mix of destinations that attract a demographically broad audience, the “Heights” is the perfect boutique location for Birmingham area retailers and includes retailers and restaurants including: Starbucks, ‘Lette Macarons, Owens Hudson Salon, True40 Fitness Studio, FoodBar, New York Butcher, Sexton’s Seafood, Manhattan South, Little Soles, Learning Express Toys, Regions Bank and many more. Heights Village is located at the intersection of Cahaba Heights Road and Dolly Ridge Road in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. Wintzell’s will occupy a 3,060 square foot space and is scheduled to open in October.
