Harbert Realty’s John Tally represented the buyer, John Beard, in the purchase of 2112 5th Avenue North, a 7,500 SF one-story building located across the street from the Redmont Hotel. The property was formerly the Alabama Auction Room. Mr. Beard will be donating the building to Terrific New Theatre, Inc. (TNT) for their new performance space.
Louise and John Beard have a long relationship with TNT starting when TNT co-founder Carl Stewart was directing at Birmingham Festival Theatre and Louise performed at BFT and later at TNT. When the COVID-19 pandemic suspended the operations of TNT and other local community theaters, the Beards made a pledge to help TNT secure a new home and contribute to the future capital campaign so performances can resume.
TNT, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, began producing live plays and musicals in 1986. They were originally located on First Avenue North, then five years later moved to Pepper Place. After a three-year shutdown due to the pandemic, TNT is excited to announce this new location and begin their capital campaign to raise money for the renovation of their new building.
