Well-known, Birmingham-based HVAC, plumbing and generator servicer, Guin Service, LLC, has purchased the former Wells Fargo on Crestwood Blvd for its new headquarters and is currently in the process of renovating and expanding the former building. Harbert’s Charlie Norton represented Guin in the purchase of their new HQ location as well and the sale of their existing facility. Harbert’s John Tally represented the purchaser of the existing site. The new headquarters will be located at 2880 Crestwood Blvd, Birmingham, AL 35201, and will feature fully renovated facilities by RADERMcCARY.
Guin has been in business for over 65 years and serves the Birmingham metro and surrounding areas with best-in-class maintenance on heating/air systems, plumbing and generator needs.
“Guin has been in its current location for many years, but we knew if we were going to grow as a company it was time to upgrade our facilities,” stated Guin owner Joseph Braswell. “When we finally made the decision to move, there was only one phone call that I made; it was to Charlie Norton at Harbert Realty. I had high standards for a new building with some unique wants and needs. Throughout the whole process Charlie kept a positive attitude and an open mind; and it was because of his help that we were able to find the perfect spot for our new headquarters. The entire Guin team cannot wait to start our next chapter at our new facility, and there is no way we could have gotten this deal done without the help of Charlie and the whole Harbert team.”
Once a new headquarters location was procured, it was critical for Guin to sell the existing building as soon as possible. “Charlie and the team brought us a buyer within a week of us deciding to sell,” Braswell stated. “They walked me through the sales process and made everything easy all the way up to closing. We appreciate all the hard work that Charlie and the Harbert team did to sell our building, and we definitely know who to call if we ever have any future real estate needs.” Ironvest Partner’s Bart Moore represented the seller of the new headquarter location.
Harbert Realty’s John Tally represented the buyers of the former Guin site. Gip Plott and Don Hire purchased the site 10 55th Street South which contains nearly 60,000 square feet including seven buildings dating back to the early 1900s. Plott and Hire plan to renovate the entire site and offer the buildings for sale or lease. For more information, contact John Tally.
